Is it normal to have a slightly brown colour of blood, like a dark rust shade? I am not sure my stitches are healing very well. I am 6 days post-partum and to be honest haven't been taking it as easy as my midwife suggested, so i'm thinking am I just triggering more blood loss or do I have the start of an infection ( Read more... )

My baby will be 7 weeks old tomorrow. I stopped bleeding a few weeks ago but still had the lochia discharge. Yesterday morning I spotted a bit and yesterday evening I went on a brisk mile walk for the first time since I had my baby. This morning I wake up and I'm still bleeding a bit more. I've been setting stuff aside to pack my hospital bag but I'm lost on underwear. I know they say to pack stuff you don't mind throwing away but I have no clue how many pairs you should pack. It's roughly a 2 day stay for a VBAC and 4 for a c-section? So assume you bleed through one pair a day requiring you to pack enough for 2 pairs a day. Does ( Read more... )

I gave birth by c-section 6 days ago, and my bleeding is pretty light.

Is there any reason I can't use tampons? or a cup? I hate pads and liners with a passion.

My baby boy is not quite 6 weeks old. We breast feed from the tap (only), on demand, round the clock. The longest we go without feeding is about 3 hours during the day and less at night ( Read more... )
